It is our pleasure to share with you a change of leadership at our firm, Heritage Financial, LLC, effective October 1, 2021.
As part of the firm’s greater succession plan, David K. Morton, III has been named Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of our firm. Dave has been a partner of Heritage Financial and the Chief Financial Officer since 2011.
As CEO, Dave will be the primary lead on corporate visioning and strategic planning for our firm. While this is a new role for Dave, he has been in the financial services industry for seventeen years in various roles, including technical writer, editor, insurance, registered representative, Chief Marketing Officer, and Chief Financial Officer. With his analytical nature and excellent business acumen, Dave is ideally suited for this new leadership role. He will, of course, continue his advisory duties to his client community.
Mark G. Cooke remains an important part of our leadership team and will transition to Director of Financial Planning at Heritage Financial. He will continue to serve clients and offer his support as a mentor to many of our team members.
Mark founded Heritage Financial, LLC in October 2006 with co-founder, J. Robert “Bob” Moon. The firm has grown from a two-person shop with a virtual assistant to a seven-person advisory firm serving more than 300 client households. As we reach our 15th corporate anniversary this month on October 18th, we signify the next stage of our firm’s growth in supporting Mark as he eases into retirement.
Mark has served our firm in immeasurable ways including, and definitely not limited to, providing ceaseless leadership and a clear vision to guide corporate decisions, serving as a stalwart mentor to new and seasoned advisors, and being a guide stone for compassioned client care.
Our team is excited to start this new chapter with Dave at the helm, continuing to strive for excellence in all we do for the client community we serve.
